The "Remote Alarm Manager" is now a "TAC" branded product where previously it was "Satchwell" branded. The TAC Remote Alarm Manager RAM) is software based product that monitors Building Management Systems and networks. It takes or generates alarms converts them to messages and sends them, interactively, as messages to a variety of remote locations. Destinations for messages include mobile phones, (text), pagers, printers, faxes and email. Web and WAP servers are included. This software release supersedes the previous release (Rel 1.1) Release 1.2 of the TAC Remote Alarm Manager provides the following changes: • New interface to the TAC Vista building management system • New DOA interface (for a Danish service provider) • Enhanced Sigma R4 Interface • Use of the TAC licensing scheme as an alternative to existing schemes. • Revised manuals with more complete information • Splitting of the manual into an "Operating Manual" and an "Engineering Manual" • Correction of a number of faults Th is version of the Remote Alarm Manager (1.2) will not operate with Release 4.00 of Sigma. Sigma must be a previous release (Release 3) or must be at Release 4.01 or later. If also upgrading from Sigma version 3 to 4 at the time of upgrading the TAC Remote Alarm Manager, follow the procedures in section 3.3 of the Remote Alarm Manager Engineering Manual The Installation programme is available from Sigma > Sigma downloads > Upgrades > RAM Setup. Destinations for messages include mobile phones (text), pagers, printers, faxes and email. Web and WAP interfaces are included. This software release supersedes the previous release (Rel 1.001), however this document should be read in conjunction with the previous release note. This release includes support for Sigma release 4 (Release 3 is still supported), when upgrading RAM from an earlier release the configured RAM alarm actions will be automatically upgraded during the installation process, however if RAM is installed on a remote node it will be necessary to run the upgrade process manually by running the program called IRAMSigmaR3ToR4Upgrade.exe which can be found in the RAM folder. Please note that only the Sigma server need be running for the interface to operate.

It describes the hardware and software components and covers basic engineering and configuration. This is the first release of RAM. RAM replaces the earlier Satchwell Pager Interface (SPI) for Satchwell Sigma and MicroNet providing substantially revised and enhanced features. RAM was given a development codename of "Mercury" and some internal documents may refer to it by this former name. Note that the software uses "IRAM" instead of "RAM". IRAM (the "I" stood for Invensys) is a former name.
